Off The Record is a charity and we rely on donations from our clients and others to cover our costs. We ask our clients to contribute as generously as possible for the service they receive.
Your donations allow us to maintain a professional counselling service and cover our costs, which include our premises, administration and counsellors' expenses. Off the Record aims to make counselling as affordable as possible while at the same time being able to maintain a financially viable service to the community.
Our fee donations per session are as follows:
Category | When | Donation | Max no. of sessions |
---|---|---|---|
Individuals | 9am-9pm | £20 - £45 per session | Unlimited sessions |
Low cost for individuals* | 9am-9pm |
£15 per session |

*Low cost sessions are restricted to people with severely limited incomes
Because of demand, we have a waiting list, but when you are given an appointment, you are seen regularly. Counselling for the client involves a high level of commitment and it is usual for your counsellor to reserve a particular appointment slot for you. It is important for your own wellbeing to attend appointments as arranged with your counsellor.
Repeated cancellations makes it difficult to reserve appointments. However, if you do need to cancel the odd appointment because of sudden illness or some other unforeseen reason, we ask that you telephone Off The Record as early as possible and leave a message.
We regret that if you do not phone to cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment, we will request a donation for that session.
